WA Made Film Festival

This year’s festival runs from February 20 to March 1, with its biggest ever program – 129 films, including 85 premieres, across 11 days.

Buy West Eat Best is once again presenting Get Smart!, WA’s only smartphone filmmaking competition. Filmmakers were challenged to make a film with WAVE as the theme, with entries closing in December 2025.

The special screening of those films will be at Palace Cinemas Raine Square, on February 21. The event includes a before and after party, drinks and food, as well as networking opportunities and an awards ceremony. There is a major cash prize of $1000 for Best Film, decided by a jury of industry professionals. Get your tickets here.

The WA Made Film Festival is the State’s only independently operated film festival featuring exclusively WA-made films, and the biggest celebration of locally made screen content. It strives to showcase and celebrate talented cast and crew, stunning locations and unique stories from all over Western Australia.

Attracting audiences from around Australia, the festival includes world premieres, Perth premieres, pre-screening networking events, parties with drinks and canapés, question and answer sessions with filmmakers and other post-screening events, as well as educational screenings.
