WA’S SIGNATURE DISH REGIONAL FINALISTS REVEALED

Talented home cooks and a 2012 My Kitchen Rules contestant have been unveiled today as the 16 regional finalists for WA’s Signature Dish, a Buy West Eat Best initiative that aims to unearth our State on a plate.
Battling it out across four major food-producing regions in April and May, the contestants will prepare and cook for popular Western Australian chefs to represent their region and showcase the abundant breadth and depth of WA produce.
The judges face a tough decision over our State’s dish. Will it be Blue Ridge Marron or seafood from the spectacular Gascoyne region that will be anointed the title of WA’s Signature Dish?
Emma Donnelly, a 2012 finalist on My Kitchen Rules and dubbed one half of “The Engaged Scientists”, is hoping her dish of Creamy Dill Great Southern Mussels with Macadamia Bread will take out the Great Southern regional final.
“Food as a hobby isn’t enough anymore,” Emma said. “I am thrilled to be involved in this competition. How often do you get to cook for WA’s top chefs?”
One winner from each regional final will go on to compete at a Grand Finale on 2 June at Celebrate WA’s ‘Come out and play’ annual event in Perth.
