They planted their first kiwifruit, tamarilos and avocados a year later, though it would be another three years before they grew enough for a commercial crop.
Today, with the couple’s three children also involved in the business, Delroy Orchards grow almost 400ha of kiwifruit, avocados, and tamarillos and supply their products nationally.
The region’s high rainfall and moderate climate enable us to hang our fruit on the tree or vine for longer periods of time to develop great depth of flavour.
