Drakesbrook Wines

Established on the site of an abandoned farm in Waroona, Drakesbrook Wines is a real family affair run by artisan producers who are passionate about creating wines of distinction.

Named for the small river running through the family farm, Drakesbrook Wines specialise in alternate and emerging varieties and are committed to the environment and sustainable practices.

Property valuer turned winemaker Bernie Worthington and wife Trish stumbled across the beautiful plot of land in 2000 and have worked hard to turn it into the successful winery it is today, with more than a little help from their two daughters.

Drakesbrook Wines released their first vintage in 2008, with a shiraz, chardonnay, cabernet franc and cabernet merlot. Over the years, the stable of wines has grown to include the likes of tempranillo, malbec, semillon and viognier.

They take every vintage season by season to best represent what the conditions provide. With 17 different varieties that are all dry grown, Drakesbrook minimise intervention and chemicals to let the fruit speak for itself.

Drakesbrook Wines ensure every variety represents the quality the Peel region can produce.
