Western Australian Fishing Industry Council (WAFIC)

WAFIC is the peak industry body representing Western Australia’s commercial fishing, pearling and aquaculture sectors.

It provides strategic leadership and advocacy on significant matters affecting the industry as a whole.

WAFIC also works in partnership with sector bodies and other key stakeholders to resolve significant industry matters; and bases its decision-making and advice on sound science and hard evidence wherever possible.

WAFIC works to focus the commercial fishing industry on areas of agreement, rather than disagreement, and provides direct support to those commercial fisheries in Western Australia without their own dedicated sector body.
