Greek Lamb Meatballs on Pita

How to


  1. Preheat oven to 180C.
  2. Combine all meatball ingredients in a bowl, using fingers to mix well. Shape mixture into golf-ball sized meatballs and arrange on baking paper on a large tray. Spray with olive oil.
  3. Bake meatballs for 20 minutes or until browned.
  4. Top pita bread with 2-3 tablespoons of tzatziki, then add 2-3 meatballs per serve. Sprinkle with paprika to garnish.

To Serve

Serve the pita bread, tzatziki and meatballs with fresh salad leaves and salad vegetables of choice such as julienne cucumber and capsicum. Alternatively, serve with Greek salad.


Meatball Ingredients

  • 500g lamb mince
  • 1 red onion, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped mint
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Olive oil spray

To serve

  • 1 packet fresh pita bread
  • 200g tzatziki
  • 2 tsp mild paprika
  • salad leaves and julienne vegetables to taste
