Known for their health benefits, jujubes (also called red dates or Ziziphus jujuba) are used in traditional Chinese medicine.
The family farm’s first commercial harvest was sold in 2019 and since then the size has steadily increased, with the Jujube Orchard expanding into other product lines.
Capel River Dried Jujubes are now available online and at the Margaret River and Boyanup farmers markets.
Handpicked, washed, graded and oven-dried without the use of sulphites, they are great as a snack, or used in trail mix, desserts or tea.
Low in salt, with no preservatives, additives, flavourings or colourings, jujubes are available fresh from February to May at select fruit and vegetable retailers in Perth and the South West.
