The Cheeky Cow

Driven by a desire to give their cows a better life, the family behind The Cheeky Cow are proud to proclaim they produce “dairy done differently”.

First generation farmers Hayden and Beth Russell produce single origin, pasture-based dairy on a small scale and decided the best way to keep doing what they love was to bottle their own milk on their Busselton farm.

Their non-homogenised milk is gently pasteurised before bottling and they also produce homogenised milk for those who don’t like a bit of cream on top. Their refurbished vintage cream separator ensures that old style of luscious thick cream, too. 

As part of “honouring their ladies”, The Cheeky Cow is committed to sustainability, which includes using contemporary regenerative farming practices and becoming carbon neutral by 2025. 

The farmers are also awaiting food standard approval to bring the world’s first 100 percent compostable milk bottle to market. Made from household organic waste, even the lid is fully compostable.  

In the meantime, they use 100 percent recycled plastic bottles manufactured locally.
